The Team

Olivier RIOUAL (proprietor and manager)

Hello,

Welcome to the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel.

After having studied finance at the université Paris Dauphine in the 1990s, I only knew one thing with certainty: I was not cut out for the banking world or the stock market. I needed a job that would allow me to work with people. What better than the hotel business?
So, I took over the Duquesne in 1992 and I am very pleased to continue this adventure with you today.
There is only one item on the agenda at the hotel: Your satisfaction!
Every staff member has been recruited for their people skills and will strive to accommodate you with joy and a cheerful attitude!
I believe that this is why there is a certain ambiance at the hotel; one that we are proud of.
Sharing with you our passion for Paris, our excitement, our friendly salutations, our willingness to satisfy your wants, our desire to simply chat, and more... This is what puts a smile on our faces every day!
Welcome home!

Julie Palisse (Marketing manager)

Hello to all,

Almost 30 years old, I have the pleasure of being the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel's Marketing manager. I arrived in September 2004, and after having gained a little more experience, Olivier Rioual, manager and proprietor, gave me his vote of confidence and appointed me Marketing manager. The position I hold is the next logical step from all that I have done up until now and I am proud to be part of this young and dynamic team.

Before settling in Paris, I lived in many different countries (Spain, Morocco, Egypt, United States) and various areas of France (Aquitaine, Corsica, Alpes). These experiences allowed me not only to discover different cultures, but also to understand that the tourism and hospitality industries were made for me!

I speak four languages (English, Spanish, Italian, and French) and it is a pleasure to work with an international clientele. It is nice to be able to meet and learn about our clients in a small independent hotel like the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel.

I hope to see you soon at the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel, and while I wait to meet you, I hope you have a pleasant online visit to our new web site!

See you soon,

Julie

Jessica Barillon (Head receptionist)

Hello!

My name is Jessica and I have been in charge of receiving the guests at the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel since October 2008.

I'm from Sallanches (near Chamonix), but I have lived in several cities in France, notably in Mans and Moulins. When I was younger, I had the chance to visit most of the museums in Paris with my grandparents. I’ve visited the Palais de la découverte (Palace of Discovery) on countless occasions. I’ve also gone on cruises on the Seine and the Canal St Martin, the latter of which I highly recommend.

Before working at the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel, I worked in several hotels around Paris ranging from 2 stars to 4 stars. What I really appreciate about this line of work is the contact I have with the clientele; I love having the opportunity to share my knowledge of Paris’ tourist attractions.

As the Duquesne Eiffel is an independent hotel, I take great pride in meeting and serving the guests. The closeness we have with our guests is quite nice!

So, it will be my pleasure to take care of you during your stay at the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel.

See you soon,

Jessica

Hélène (Receptionist)

Hello,

My name is Estelle, I’m 35 years old and I have worked at the HDE for 4 years now.

I was born in Paris but I have lived abroad for long stretches of time, notably in England for 4 years.
I have also travelled a great deal during my free time and I am proud of the number of countries that I have already visited: 45 in total! What motivates me is contact with cultures that are different from my own and what I can learn from them. I am fascinated by foreign languages and as a result of my experiences I can now speak 4 languages (and I hope to learn 1 or 2 more).

Before working at the HDE I had already worked in reception, but aboard Italian cruise ships. This job bought me great joy, even though the work days were very long. The greatest reward was definitely being able to take advantage of the various stopovers and heavenly islands once my day was done. As the clientele was very international, I was also able to continue practising foreign languages while working.

Working at the HDE makes me happy for the same reasons. After those years abroad, I’m truly enjoying Paris, my native city, but I'm still able to be in contact with other cultures thanks to our international clientele. It is not always easy to find the time to chat with our guests as we generally have lots of work to do, but it is always a pleasure to do so. The fact that our hotel is a modest size (40 rooms) helps in keeping a friendlier atmosphere, even one of family. I cannot see myself working in a larger environment as I believe contact with the guests wouldn't be as warm.

So if one day you find yourself in Paris and decide to stay at the HDE, I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you

Estelle

Leeloo (official mascot)

Hello,

I’m Leeloo, official team mascot! You’ll probably find me sleeping on a corner of the lounge carpet. Between siestas, I enjoy “making the rounds” of my guests and I do not hesitate to beg for a hug. Are you travelling to Paris and you’ve left your pet at home? Missing someone to pet or tickle? No problem! I love acting as a stand-in and being cuddled by the guests. I’ll make sure to be discreet if you don’t really like contact. Finally, I must say, I’m very soft as are all Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and I’m quite used to children, even the youngest ones. In any case, don't worry: My teeth are only for decoration!
See you soon,

A bientôt
